This cookbook is a celebration of our family’s cooking, with Yiayia at the heart of it all. For years, everyone has been asking for our recipes — the secret behind Yiayia’s perfect schnitzel, Jim’s souvlaki, and Soula’s fried rice. This book has been in the back of our minds for what feels like forever, and it’s finally here to share with you, straight from Yiayia’s fridge to yours. Yiayia herself has been keeping her half Greek, half English written recipes in a notebook no bigger than the palm of your hand for over 20 years. That little notepad has been tucked into drawers, lost multiple times and passed around the family for decades. All of her other recipes are stored in her brain. A massive thank you to everyone who helped make this happen — Matt, Jim, Sharon, Soula, Steven, Nicole, Phillip, Natasha, Peter, Katie and of course Yiayia — your contributions, memories, and hours spent in the kitchen brought this cookbook to life.
